About Me

Hello, I’m Allison. I’m a graduate student in sociology at University of Illinois-Chicago and a former analyst and Mariam K. Chamberlain Fellow at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research. I previously studied gender and development at the University of the West Indies and used my Fulbright award to learn about urban backyard chicken farming in Kingston, Jamaica. I completed a master’s degree in sociology at George Washington University and my recent research examines the relationships between race, class, gender, and space in Washington, DC.
